if you try to copy the ASMS file to other places from the CD, you will get an error, since the ASMS is not complete in the CD. Finally, i'll make it to keep it run as first time as i bought. Simple as that. Thanks. weblink

Sysmdm.cpl didn't work at first (as some others have stated) to start Device Manager. at least one recommended by your cd\dvd burning hardware correct? You just click a button and within a few minutes, BAM, it's fixed.

The text in the path text box is 'GLOBALROOT\DEVICE\CDROM0\I386'. Basically, I've tried to do it about any way I can think of. I kinda winged it using an educated guess. Rating is available when the video has been rented. This is the longest 39 minutes for setup I ever experienced. Globalroot Device Cdrom0 I386 Copying the files to C:\ worked, but when asked for the file location, the computer does not seem to recognize C:\I386.

I had the CD as the first boot device, changed it to the third, so that first is HDD, second is floppy, third is CD and that worked. thats all...... The disk may be damaged.Make sure the drive is switched on and properly connected to your computer. I recommend everyone with a balky Windows installation always try an "SFC /scannow" first as it's not destructive at all. I've tried D:\I386, E:\I386 & F:\I386. You'll need to do this alot of times throughout the setup.
